Opening Your Mind to the World, Opening the World to You

ACI Costa Rica is a non profit, non governmental organization, which promotes and facilitates International Volunteer and Cultural Exchange Programs with young people from all around the world, guiding them in their collaboration in social and environmental projects, offering new perspectives and opening them a window to the world. By these means, we want to contribute to solidarity and friendship between the peoples of this planet that grows smaller every day, to sustainable human development, and to the personal growth of our participants as global citizens; independent, multilingual, with intercultural competence, and open-minded.

We are active affiliate of the International Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE) Federation, with its main offices in Berlin, Germany and representation in the five continents through its Member Organizations and Committees. ICYE is recognized by the United Nations as “International Messenger of Peace” and forms part of the Co-Coordinating Committee for International Volunteer Services (CCIVS), associated to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

gente_grisIn Costa Rica, we work in different areas, sending and receiving volunteers, for long and short terms, in groups or as independent persons. We also coordinate our work with other programs such as German Civil Service, Italian Civil Service, “Weltwärts” of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, British “Community Service Volunteers”, the European Union’s “European Voluntary Service”, “Canada World Youth”, and “United Planet” from the USA.

Open up to the world, and we open the world to you!
